My Bio
Jack the Flipper is a project that arose through friendship. Good friends share interests and help one another in order to achieve their goals in implementing projects. It’s about dreams and passion. Together we pursue an artistic goal. It is the unbridled, creative urge to live and share a vision. In life everyone at times faces decisions of such great significance that they have lasting effects on one’s future decisions guided by an inner voice, a gut feeling, and knowledge, namely knowledge that the uniqueness of the moment can indeed be captured, lived in, breathed in, and felt.
Jack the Flipper would like to share the dream with you, to make the beauty of nature something that can be experienced, to stop time for a few moments, to steal your breath away. Our world is chaotic; nature is wild and untamable. Changes between awe-inspiring natural violence and breathtaking beauty take place within fractions of seconds, like when the first rays of sunshine break through the clouds over the churning sea after a storm. Experiencing these moments is our inspiration: to be one with the elements and reveal their beauty.
If you are enthralled by the beauty of a landscape or filled with awe by the power of nature as you look at a picture, then you’ll realize what motivates us in photography and what spurs us on to discover new places and motifs.
As a continuously changing medium, water is especially fascinating. We humans are limited in our ability to perceive. Our eyes can only perceive the moment, specifically 20-30 individual phases per second. Hence some events in our daily lives can only be perceived as motion, but the aspect of a single vignette of movement remains hidden to us in its perfection. The camera renders this fraction of a second visible for us. Hence we came up with the idea of capturing the sculptures of falling water drops on film.
Our oceans are made up of countless drops of water. Our oceans are immense: they cover 7/10 of the earth’s surface. The power that their waters are capable of exerting can be seen on our coasts: jagged rock formations, bizarre stone sculptures carved by the power of the surf over millennia until nothing remains on wide beaches but fine sand, on which the waves no longer crash but gently peter out with a gentle murmur. Long exposure photography on the coast captures the stillness of the oceans, thus taming the unrelenting surging of the waves and capturing the tranquility that most of us experience when we walk along the seaside. It is the feeling of time stretching - the perfect moment that could last forever.
Even more impressive than the coastal surf are waterfalls. The primordial power with which tons of water fall hundreds of meters in seconds makes us seem small. The great difficulty in photographing a waterfall from the right angle and the luck of being at the right place at the right time lends a certain sense of almost religious awe to the photo. The viewer is left with the pure beauty and perfection of nature, which can only illicit a sigh of wonder.
We who are wingless and bound to the earth often gaze upon the heavens full of wonder. They symbolize freedom. Through the progression of the clouds and the change from sunshine to rain they show us variability, frighten us with lightning, and enchant us with rainbows.
And when we gaze upon the stars in the firmament, we realize that we truly are much smaller than we felt on the rocky coast or at the foot of the waterfall. Our planet is just one of many with a central star, the sun, which is only one star out of billions and billions. The stars above move because the earth rotates. Long exposure photography of the starry sky renders this phenomenon visible. The backdrop, our earth in all of its splendor, makes the perfect stage.
Nature herself is what inspires our dreams to create new worlds on paper and canvas.
Everything is in a state of flux, everything is variable, nothing stays the same - and that’s as it should be! Is the moment merely an illusion, or is it eternity? Certain experiences are so wonderful that they seem like a dream in our memories. Has the dream thus become reality?! The world is our dream.

Jack the Flipper would like to thank you all!:) Jack the Flipper is a project about love & passion for art! Our photographies evolved through a compassion between Muse friends and their joint ideas and creativity! The highest mountain isn’t high enough, the lowest valley isn’t low enough, therefor we travel to very different natural places and kept shooting until the last ray of light disappeared. Sometimes we were awake all night long, to gaze at the stars to inhale nature itself and to shoot natures features. We are doing this since the last years and now we reached the moment of knowledge, that we are working on the righ
